# Braves

Promoted from Cubs for the cost of 2 BERA, Braves are minted as an NFT. A mission with a Brave on it will earn Gems, even if the rest of the team is made up of Cubs! 

When you promote a Cub to a Brave it will transform up to 25,000 Shards (earnt by Cub-only missions) into Gems, which can be used to purchase rewards in the Store 👀

Braves automatically upgrade any Starter Items they carry (with a Gear Score of 1) to Uncommon Items. This can be an efficient way to significantly boost your Gear Score on a freshly recruited Cub.

Braves also live up to their name by unlocking the toughest type of misson; **Raids**.

*Note: Braves are NFTs and are therefore transferrable and tradeable. However, trades and transfers are only allowed BETWEEN seasons. Once a Season starts, your Braves fight with you and only you until the very end.*
